Internship Application
Kickstart your professional journey with the Internship Program at Ankole Demonstration Zoo, where learning goes beyond the classroom into real-world conservation, research, and operations.
Our internship program is designed for students and recent graduates seeking practical experience in fields such as wildlife management, environmental science, veterinary studies, tourism, hospitality, education, and agribusiness. It provides a structured and immersive environment where interns can apply academic knowledge while developing industry-relevant skills.
Interns work closely with experienced professionals and are actively involved in day-to-day operations. Depending on your area of interest, you may participate in animal care and feeding routines, habitat maintenance, conservation projects, data collection and research, visitor engagement, or administrative and hospitality services. Those interested in agriculture can also gain hands-on experience through our coffee plantation and sustainable farming initiatives.
Beyond technical exposure, the program emphasizes professional development. Interns build competencies in teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and project management. Regular mentorship and supervision ensure that each participant gains meaningful insights and guidance throughout their placement.
The internship program is flexible, offering placements that align with academic requirements or career goals. At the end of the program, interns receive certification and, in some cases, recommendations based on performance.
By joining our internship program, you are not only gaining valuable experience—you are contributing to wildlife conservation, environmental education, and community development. It’s an opportunity to grow, learn, and make a lasting impact while preparing for your future career.
